"Told you I'd keep up." She told Adam.
"Did I ever say I doubted you?" He asked with a grin.

With that, she flew past him, down to the bottom of the hill. She unbuckled her bindings and sat in the snow, her board next to her.

“Oh.” Lily said, red creeping into her cheeks. “We kinda had a snowball fight on the way home.”
“Snowball fight? Looks like you guys went swimming.” Lily’s mom, Angela, said with a laugh.

“Alright.” Ellen said. “Put your boards and boot in the garage.”
“Is it okay if we take showers?” Lily asked.
“You better.” Angela added. “Melissa and Evan just called. They’re on their way.”

She embraced Melissa like a sister and hugged Evan for a few minutes before giving him a quick, sweet kiss on the lips.
“Hey Adam!” Melissa said as she quickly hugged Adam. “How are you?”

Melissa threw a quick glance at her best friend and Evan, raised her eyebrows and nodded once.
Lily stepped back from Evan to allow him and Adam to greet each other.
